Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia and its international partners will build a fair and multilateral world together. In that case the neo-colonial system based on exploitation must become a thing of the past.
Putin made these remarks in a video conference at the 11th International Conference of High Representatives on Security Affairs on Wednesday.
In his speech, he said, ‘I am confident that together we will build a more equitable and multifaceted world system. Also the neo-colonialist system through which the exploitation of the entire world’s resources has been made possible must become a thing of the past.”
He said Russia has partners in various regions and continents, and the country’s authorities “highly value” those relationships. We value historically strong, friendly, truly trusting relations with the states of Asia, Africa and Latin America, and we will strengthen them in every possible way.
According to the Russian leader, the efforts of the United States and its allies to maintain their dominant role include building military potential, clear interference in the internal affairs of other countries, as well as efforts to extract unilateral benefits from energy and food crises, provoked by a number of Western states, etc.
Putin noted that as a result of these actions, the level of instability in the international scene is increasing. In various regions, old hotspots are expanding and new ones are emerging… People in many countries are suffering the dramatic consequences of coups organized from outside.
However, the president insisted Russia was confident that Western policy had alternatives to ‘blackmail and illegal sanctions’. Countries should work together to solve the main tasks of strengthening stability in the world, continuous construction of a unified indivisible security system, ensuring economic, technological and social development.’
The 11th International Meeting of High Representatives on Security Affairs, organized by the Russian Security Council, is being held in the Moscow region between Tuesday and Thursday. The event, which brings together delegations from over 100 countries, will see participants discuss the international situation and the world’s most pressing security challenges at the moment. According to the organizers, special attention will be paid to issues such as food and information security, as well as cooperation in the fight against drug trafficking.
