In the chat app Discord, the boy had also written in detail about his plans, and 13 days before the attack, the police visited his home after receiving tips from Australia about the school attack. The boy then denied the plans and said it was a joke, writes TT according to Omni.

Just days before the start of the term, the FBI had also sounded the alarm to the Swedish police about the 15-year-old, but nothing happened, according to Aftonbladet.

Now a foreign friend, with whom the 15-year-old boy played online games, also states that he knew about the attack and tried to ward it off.

“At first I tried to talk to him myself but it really did not work, so in the end I betrayed his trust and told others,” he writes to DN.

After receiving pictures of the 15-year-old’s weapon and uniform, his playmate contacted two individuals in Sweden – in the hope that they could stop the attack.

“He’s serious. He showed me everything,” he wrote to one of the people, according to the newspaper.

But the boy managed to complete the act, and now the police must investigate whether they could have acted differently to prevent it all.
