The first in nine years. Sparta celebrates the league title with two Slovaks – Foreign leagues – Football

After nine years, the players of Sparta Prague became champions of the Czech Republic. They sealed their triumph in the top competition with a 0:0 draw at 1. FC Slovácko in Tuesday’s match of the 4th round of the group for the title.

In Sparta’s jersey, the pair of Slovak legionaries Lukáš Haraslín and Adam Goljan are also enjoying the league championship. The first-named was not in the squad against Slovácko, Goljan watched the duel from the substitutes’ bench.

The club from Letná won the 13th title in the highest Czech competition. In total, it is the 34th record for the “Reds” in the club’s history, including achievements in the Czechoslovak league.

In the new season, Sparta will play in the Champions League, starting in the 2nd preliminary round.

In the penultimate round of the group for the title, Slavia turned from 0:2 to 3:2 in Olomouc. Slovakian defender Juraj Chvátal opened the score of the match at Hana in the 2nd minute and Pavel Zifčák increased Sigma’s lead shortly after, but Slavia equalized before the break and after the change of sides, Ondřej Lingr decided on their victory.

The duel was not completed by another Slovak player in the services of Olomouc, Denis Ventúra, who saw two yellow cards and an automatic red card in quick succession.
