The first 1,840-horsepower Hennessey Venom F5 was delivered to its owner

Eleven months ago, Hennessey unveiled the production version of the Venom F5, and yesterday the American company announced that it had delivered the first car to its owner. He paid at least $ 2.1 million, which is the base price of the car, which is painted in gold / yellow (Mojave Gold), and – as you can see – was added to a very special collection.

In total, only 24 Venom F5s will go into production, all of which have been sold, with buyers – in addition to having deep pockets – also having to be brave, as the American hypercar is not equipped with airbags. This affects its legal status, as it can only be registered in the US under the title “exposure and promotion”. As a result, its owners will not be able to drive it for more than 2,500 miles (4,023 kilometers) per year.

Hennessey has promised that the Venom F5 will break the 300 mph (483 km / h) barrier to reach another magic number, reaching 500 km / h. Last April, a prototype of the car managed to catch “only” 200 mph (322 km / h), but the engine power was limited to just 900 horsepower (only 50% of its actual performance).

The American company wants to exceed the final speed of the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ and Koenigsegg Agera RS, but before that happened, it revealed a new color for the Venom F5. It is a silver (Lausanne Silver) color, combined with the colors of the American flag (red, white and blue), in the stripe that runs through it. The car will be on display at the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles from early December.

Let me remind you that the American hypercar has a 6.6-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, codenamed “Fury”. Its block is made of steel, while the head is made of aluminum, with a total weight of 280 kg. Its output is 1,817 horsepower (or 1,840 metric horsepower) at 8,000 rpm. and torque reaches 1,617 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. With 277 horsepower per liter, it is the most powerful internal combustion engine installed in a production car, while the speed limiter intervenes at 8,500 rpm.

The car accelerates from 0-100 km / h in 2.6 seconds. And if that doesn’t sound impressive, Hennessey announces that 0-200 km / h comes in 4.7 seconds, 0-300 km / h hour in 8.4 seconds and for 0-400 km / h in 15.4 seconds, when the Bugatti Chiron needs 32.6 seconds! The company aims that the final speed will exceed 500 km / h, something we will learn in 2021.
