Fiat Chrysler in partnership with Archer Aviatior want to launch a vertical electric take-off and landing aircraft (eVTOL) for use in urban transport.
Archer Aviation is a startup company based in Palo Alto, California and has been developing plaid eVTOL vehicles here. The FCA will contribute to the transfer of its experience in engineering, design, supply chain and materials processing, while offering the abundant know-how it has acquired after designing driver spaces for many decades, for the development of the cockpit.
According to Archer plans, the first eVTOL vehicle is expected to be presented at the beginning of this year, while it will go into production in 2023. The vehicle will be powered by electric motors that will give it a top speed of 241 km / h and a range of about 100 km.
