The environmental months of Lääneranna municipality started with planting the forest

For the second year in a row, Lääneranna Parish has declared May as Environmental Month, when more attention is paid to environmental issues and activities.

This year, the environmental months started with campaigns – Lääneranna municipality officials and council members went to plant the forest together. “In order to maintain balance, what has been taken from nature must also be returned,” explained Raahel Apsalon, a public relations specialist at Lääneranna municipality. About 6,000 pine seedlings were planted on a nearly 3-hectare forest plot.
