Military toughness!

The design of the AmazFit T-Rex may or may not appeal to your taste. It is true that finding a strap and the back of the plastic case for a watch at this price is cheap. This has at least the merit of being light with only 58 grams for the case and of ventilating your wrist, especially during an effort. We are entitled to ask questions about the robustness, but in reality, the AmazFit T-Rex is very solid, it even has an STD-MIL-810G certification against extreme temperatures and a 5 ATM certification against great depths .

The screen is a 1.3-inch AMOLED panel with a definition of 360 x 360 pixels whose different dials know how to take advantage of the infinite contrast ratio. The brightness is high, allowing you to use it in direct sunlight, but it remains strong at the minimum level and then becomes disturbing at night. I’Always-On is also present, as is a mode that allows you to turn on the watch while wearing your wrist in front of your eyes.

A watch closer to the connected bracelet

The AmazFit T-Rex is a connected watch that wants to address athletes via its few sensors such as GPS and heart rate monitor. Several modes are available: running, swimming, skiing, cycling or even elliptical trainer, outdoor sports and indoor sports are taken into account. The data collected can then be sent to the Zepp, Apple Health or Google Fit application. On sports monitoring, we can regret that the GPS has trouble following you.

But the weak point of this watch is precisely in its functionality as a watch. There’s no NFC, no ability to interact with notifications, and most importantly, no third-party apps to install. We stay on sports uses, and that’s it… Hence the impression of dealing with a connected bracelet instead of a watch. We will all the same conclude on a positive note: autonomy. By moderating the use of the GPS as much as possible, you can last a month before having to recharge it.
