The end of iPod touch. I used to love it, but Apple changed that

The iPod touch (7th generation), which hit the market in 2019, is the last representative of the iPod series that is still available for sale. His days are, however, numbered.

Apple ends the production of the iPod touch, and therefore iPods in general. Cleaning of warehouses is underway

Apple has officially announced that the production of the last iPod has been completely stopped. Sales will only continue until stocks are exhausted.

As of this writing, there are no problems with the availability of iPod touch. In the Apple online store you can buy all color versions (gray, silver, pink, blue, gold and red) and memory (32, 128 and 256 GB).

Unfortunately, for 3 years the price of the iPod touch (7th generation) did not even flinch

At the time of cleaning the magazines, iPod touch costs exactly the same as in May 2019 when it went on sale. Namely:

  • iPod touch (32 GB) – PLN 1099;
  • iPod touch (128 GB) – PLN 1579;
  • iPod touch (256 GB) – PLN 2059.

3 years without even the slightest reduction in prices. Only Apple can afford it.

I used to love iPod touch, but Apple has neglected it

In 2008, during a holiday abroad, I bought an iPod touch of the first generation, which had just hit the market and was not yet available in Poland. For several years, I was absolutely charmed by this series.

Admittedly & hairsp; – & hairsp; due to system limitations of iOS & hairsp; – & hairsp; on smartphone I preferred to use Android, but iPod touch worked great as an “iPhone without calling”. Over the years, these devices have been visually, dimensionally, functionally and efficiently similar to iPhones. They gave access to the same functions and applications, and at the same time cost much less.

The last iPod touch, however, was a misunderstanding

The 7th generation debuted in 2019, and it was a mix of obsolete components from 2012–2016. The 4-inch screen remembers the times of the iPhone 5, and the chip used was then 3 years on the back of the neck.

The last iPod touch was stuck in the technological Middle Ages on the day of its premiere, which it was contrary to the original idea of these devicesń. For a long time, they were at most a step behind the latest iPhones.

If a new iPod touch came out today that looks like an iPhone 13 mini, inherits key components and is reasonably priced, I’d be the first to queue. Apple does not have such plans, however.

The first iPod was released in 2001. The line of MP3 players remained on offer for 21 years.
