THE DEMAND FOR WOOD AS AN ENERGY DOES NOT FALL

The demand for trees is not waning, but is increasing even more day by day. Fearing that there will not be enough gas and electricity, many will be forced to seek refuge in the forest in order to provide themselves with the necessary amount of the oldest natural heating material in a timely manner.

– Now the price is around 7,000 dinars per cubic meter, it will soon rise to 8,000, what can happen in the fall no one knows for sure, but my prediction is that it should not climb much over 8,000 or a maximum of 80 euros . We know that there are up to 10,000 in the capital. The smart ones were insured last year, and this summer they are preparing for that winter there – says Dragoslav Ignjatović for Rina, who is familiar with the movement of firewood prices at Rudnik and in the village of Majdan.

He adds that about ten months ago, quality wood could be bought for approximately 5,000 dinars, and a little later the price reached 50 euros.
However, he says, looking at it that way, two seasons ago there were 4,000-4,500. I don’t even remember that this was the situation in the 1990s when it came to wood.

– Now, even if people have a private forest, without an invitation to the forester who should mark places that can be cut, there is no cutting, such are the rules. Secondly, there is no real firewood, beech, older oak, there is cutting of cherries, ashes, acacias, and that is, in my opinion, a pity – says local Zoran Nikić.

He adds that he would not be optimistic as a neighbor and that it is very possible that the price of wood per meter at Rudnik will reach 10,000 dinars.
