Anterselva (Italy) – The Czech biathletes did not succeed in the endurance race of the World Cup in Anterselva, Italy. With two penalty minutes, the best Jessica Jislová took 40th place just ahead of the Czech number one Markéta Davidová, who missed four targets and did not score for the first time in the season. Austrian Lisa Theresa Hauser rejoiced at the first victory in the elite series.

Jislová especially regretted the mistakes in the final standing item. On the track, she concentrated on the previous lap to come ready to shoot. “I don’t think it could have been too far, I didn’t do it completely wrong. I’m sorry, because the shooting was worse today and I would have moved a lot with better shooting,” she told Czech Television.

Last year, David finished eighth in the discipline in Anterselva at the World Championships, but this time she did not succeed. She left one undefeated target on each item, and even the eleventh running time did not save her points. “I’m sorry those beds weren’t zero, that should be it. I’m glad there was no pigsty, but for four it’s too much in a long race,” she said after the worst race of the season.

Eva Puskarčíková made one mistake less than Davidová, but she is worried about running and finished in 53rd place. Lucie Charvátová collected eight penalty minutes, which ranked her 77th.

They disappointed the favored Norwegians, who ran fast but shot inaccurately. The best of them was Tiril Eckhoff in 18th place. Twenty-seven-year-old Hauser benefited the most from this, winning by one penalty minute 43.7 seconds ahead of the only flawless shooter of the race Julia Dzymova from Ukraine. Frenchwoman Anais Chevalier-Bouchet finished third.

The men’s endurance race will take place in Anterselva on Friday.
