Suara.com – The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) moves in the green zone to start trading today, Thursday (14/1/2021) even though it is overshadowed by the increasing positive cases of the corona virus or Covid-19 in the country.
Launching RTI data, JCI at the beginning of pre-trade rose 10.6 basis points to the level of 6,445 or strengthened 0.17 percent compared to yesterday’s closing level of 6,435.
After opening right at 09:00, the JCI rate increased to the level of 6,454 or had increased 19.6 basis points with a gain of 0.31 percent.
A total of 180 stocks rose, 29 stocks fell and 138 stocks had not been transacted.

Even though it was opened higher, Head of Research at MNC Sekuritas Edwin Sebayang said the JCI rate in today’s trade was expected to weaken due to the ferocity of Covid-19 and the decline in a number of commodity prices.
“The increase in the JCI will be restrained,” said Edwin in his analysis.
He explained that the decline in the Dow Jones index on the stock exchange of the United States (US) and the decline in the prices of several commodities such as oil, coal, gold, tin and crude palm oil (CPO) had the potential to hold the JCI from strengthening.
Moreover, the number of victims infected and killed due to Covid-19 in Indonesia is increasing. So he estimates that JCI will be in the range of 6,358 to 6,492 today.
