The construction site of section five of the future Sibiu-Piteşti highway is already prepared.

Recently, a video from section five was published, a video showing part of the future route, as well as the construction site, located in the commune of Merişani in Argeş. In the filming you can already see the route marked for several kilometers, as well as dozens of machines.

The works will actually start at the end of June, after obtaining the construction permit

The fifth section of the future Sibiu-Piteşti highway will be between Curtea de Argeş and Piteşti. The Italian company Astaldi, which will execute the work, has already started in April the organization of the site and the preparatory works for entering the site.

Concrete and asphalt stations have already been installed. On May 11, 2020, CNAIR SA signed the contract “Design and execution of the Sibiu – Piteşti Highway, section 5, Curtea de Argeş – Piteşti, km 92 + 600 – km 122 + 950”, the winning bidder being the Italian company Astaldi SpA.

The value of the contract is 1.7 billion lei without VAT, money that will come from non-reimbursable European funds. The duration of the fifth section of the future Sibiu-Piteşti highway is 60 months, of which 12 months are the design period and 48 months are for the execution of the works.

The route starts at Curtea de Argeş and continues parallel to the river Argeş to the ring road of Piteşti, writes

On the A1 Sibiu-Pitești Highway there will be the most spectacular viaduct

In March 2021, images appeared with the stage of the works on another part of A1 Sibiu-Pitești, lot 1, more precisely. One of the most spectacular viaducts in our country will be built on it.

Lot 1 of the A1 Sibiu-Pitești Highway is located between Sibiu / Veştem and Boița. We are working hard to raise the pillars of the most spectacular viaduct, Tălmăcel, which stretches over a distance of 650 meters. It crosses the communal road DC61 between Armeni and Tălmăcel. The builder uses a climbing formwork to raise the piles that will reach a height of 30 meters. Find out more here
