The construction of tram lines to the port of Vanasadam will cost 46 million euros

On Tuesday, August 9, Tallinn will sign an agreement with the companies Merko Ehitus Eesti and KMG Inseneriehitus that won the state tender for the design and construction of new tram tracks.

Construction work on the creation of a tram line that will connect the port of Vanasadam with the passenger terminal of Rail Baltica will be carried out on a 2.5-kilometer stretch from the intersection of Kivisilla and Gonsiori streets to Põhja boulevard. The duration of work from the moment of signing the contract will be 30 months, construction work should be completed in early 2025, writes rus.err.ee.

On Tuesday, the agreement will be signed by representatives of the Tallinn Environment and Public Utilities Department, as well as representatives of AS Tallinna Linnatransport as a financing party, and representatives of the contract executors – the mentioned companies that won the international public procurement competition, as well as OÜ TPJ Inseneribüroo.

Together with the value added tax and owner supervision, the design and construction of the tram lines will cost around 46 million euros, 26 million of which will come from a European fund.
