Recall, and construction of the new square in Leskovac began in November 2019, and the deadline for completion of the work was one year. Unfortunately, after a six-month delay, only about 37 percent of the planned work worth almost 223 million dinars was done.

The letter also emphasizes that, having in mind the dynamics of execution, it is difficult to predict the final completion of the works.
Leskovac, on the other hand, finances this project with credit funds, and pays the contractor on time for all the performed works. Construction due to the delay, a maximum penalty of five percent of the value of the contracted work is threatened. The total amount, as it has been emphasized several times, will not be paid until the works are completed and the supervisory bodies confirm the agreed quality.
The central square in Leskovac will have a stage, a ground floor fountain, a base for a pylon, urban furniture and lighting, and green areas with tree-lined avenues on about 8,600 square meters.
7,700 square meters of granite and more than 1,400 square meters of behaton slabs are being installed, and part of the work is the arrangement of 2,700 square meters of sidewalks in Bulevar oslobođenja.
