The works on the construction of the fast road Pozarevac-Golubac started at the loop Pozarevac. When the project is implemented in 2024, it will take less than an hour from Belgrade to Veliki Gradiste, and 70 to 75 minutes to Golubac, said Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. He also added that the first section will be completed by the end of 2023. . years.

The expressway will be important for connecting that part of the country with Belgrade and other cities, and will connect to the Danube highway., where the reconstruction is already being done, Vučić pointed out, and pointed out that the reconstruction of the part of the Danube highway from Kladovo to Donji Milanovac will be completed by the end of this year, and the second section from Donji Milanovac to Golubac by June.
He called on the contractors to speed up those works and, if they can, complete the reconstruction of the Danube highway before June.
He says that the problem is that there are currently no free workers in our country, and that, for example, about 1,000 Turks and Indians are working on the construction of the Moravian Corridor.
The President stated that a fast road to Brza Palanka will be built, and later from there to Kladovo and Negotino.
The main contractor is on the fast road from Požarevac to Golubac Shandong High Speed Group, which is also building a highway from Lajkovac to Valjevo (Iverka).
– When we build a fast road to Braničevo and Golubac, we continue towards Brza Palanka, and then branches towards Kladovo and Negotin. We will connect the entire east of Serbia with Belgrade and Novi Sad and we will be able to attract more large investors – he stated.
The expressway is 67 kilometers long, and the project is worth 337 million euros.
The fast road will have two traffic lanes in each direction, 3.5 meters wide. Also, more than 20 bridges and overpasses will be built, including a new bridge over the Velika Morava. It is planned to build 24 loops and intersections with local roads.
The route of the fast road starts near the Požarevac loop on the Belgrade-Niš highway, and ends at the entrance to Golubac and continues to the existing Danube highway that goes to Kladovo.
The construction plan envisages that the route of the future modern road will pass along the existing road to Požarevac to the exit from that city to Veliko Gradište.
From that point, the new road will bypass the construction zones of Požarevac, Veliki Gradište and Golubac, which means that it will not pass near the settlements on the territory of those three local self-governments.
