Prague – Jaroslav Hanák, President of the Confederation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic, does not expect the government to close the so-called lockdown, industry and companies in the evening in connection with the planned tightening of measures against the pandemic. He also hopes that in the event of restrictions at state borders, the situation will remain similar to the first wave of the pandemic last spring, ie that, for example, truck transport will continue to operate. It would be for tightening the movement of people. This follows from Hanák’s statement on Czech Television. He also expects the government to present a plan for the next two to three weeks at the evening meeting.
The government will meet tonight for further negotiations and will ask the Chamber of Deputies to extend the state of emergency even after Saturday. According to Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO), measures related to the planned pandemic law would now not be sufficient against the covid-19 epidemic. The government plans to tighten them. In the afternoon, the ministers will meet with the opposition, employers and trade unions or the government’s National Economic Council (NERV). According to Babiš, the government is preparing measures more or less the same as in the so-called first wave of the pandemic a year ago.
“I don’t count on the lockdown of industry and companies. Of course, the lockdown of people must be strict. I’ll count on restricting movement in my own region so we can go shopping, walking dogs and children for a while, but that’s the end of it, no unnecessary outings. The situation is really serious, “said Hanák.
He welcomed the government’s suggestion that employers could deduct a certain amount from health insurance contributions for testing employees. According to the statement of Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES), the company could deduct 60 crowns per employee up to four times a week for one test. Hanák talked about 80 crowns. “I guess it’s acceptable for us, a little modesty won’t hurt us, but at the same time I think we should get something,” he said.
