A truck loaded with goods overturned on the road after losing control of the Lohagara.
The accident took place on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway at Zangalia area of Union on Friday (May 26) around 8 am. It is reported that no one was injured.
Eyewitnesses said that at the spot, a cargo truck headed for Cox’s Bazar fell on the uneven part next to the main road and lost control and overturned. Traffic was stopped for about 2 hours. As a result, long traffic jams are created on both sides of the road. Long distance passengers suffer.
The highway police arrived at the scene and removed the truck from the road, traffic was normalized.
The truck was said to be carrying condensed milk from Chittagong city to Aziznagar market in Parbatya Lama upazila.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dohazari Highway Police Station, Khan Muhammad Erfan said, after receiving the information, they quickly went to the spot and removed the truck involved in the accident and normalized the traffic. The owner has recovered the accident truck and taken it into their custody.
