The Boston Dynamics robot dog is already walking in Hungary

Alza was the first to bring Spot to Hungary, of course we will get to know him better.

Boston Dynamics, under the auspices of the Hyundai Motor Group since December 2020, is one of the best-known pioneers of robotics in the world, and the best-known of its two- and four-legged structures is clearly the Spot, the robot dog. Over the past few months, we’ve gotten a thorough demonstration of his abilities, including being seen while herding sheep or helping with coronavirus patients, but it also turned out he wasn’t scared when he had to dance, and even the police could count on his services. It is also no secret that it will be available for purchase in Europe as well, but not cheaply.

Well, a copy of Spot owned by Alza.hu is already here in Hungary, named Alíz. Csaba Takács, director of Azla.hu, believes that innovative solutions and products similar to the development of Boston Dynamics are gradually becoming part of our everyday lives.

“At Alza, we are all passionate about innovative solutions and are constantly looking for ways to incorporate as many innovative solutions and products into our offerings. We believe that robotics will significantly transform the world in the near future and bring widely used solutions into our hands. has become an integral part of it, and soon the robotic lawnmower will appear in the gardens, just as there will be countless new technologies spreading at the household level that we hardly notice. “

Alice is significantly smaller than the BigDog construction, which also performs battlefield support tasks, is only one meter long and weighs a little over 30 kg. It is not particularly agile, it can travel at speeds of up to 6 km / h, but it also thrives on various surfaces. In addition to its own weight, it can carry a maximum load of 14 kg, and its battery, which is replaceable, gives it an hour and a half of operating time. It can perform its function in extreme conditions, ie in an atmosphere contaminated with rain (waterproof), radioactive radiation or toxic gas, while sensing its surroundings 360 degrees with its built-in sensors.

The goods, which are magnificent in the colors of Alza, will be subjected to various tests and will also be available to the general public in the company’s showroom. And in time, Alza plans to add to the offering, followed by other robotics-based products. The expected consumer price is not yet known, but it is worth tens of millions.
