Senior Reporter: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) will question five people, including the chairman of JMI Hospital Requirement Manufacturing Limited and an official of Tama Construction, in connection with allegations of corruption in the supply of low-quality health equipment, including masks and PPEs.

Among them, Razzak, Matiur and Aminul have been asked to come to the ACC head office on July 8 and Humayun and Motazzerul on July 9 with the relevant documents.

The notice said, “Billions of rupees have been embezzled from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the concerned officials of the Department of Health through various irregularities, corruption and misuse of power. In the interest of proper investigation into the acquisition of assets, it is imperative that their views be heard and accepted. ”

If they fail to appear at the appointed time and make a statement, they will be deemed to have no statement regarding the allegation, the notice said.

The agency formed a four-member investigation team headed by ACC official Zainul Abedin Shibli on June 15 to probe allegations of corruption in the purchase of N-95 masks and PPE and other health care products amid the coronavirus outbreak.
