Earlier this year, the first store was opened and now Xpeng also reveals what the first model costs.
Xpeng is one of more Chinese car manufacturers rolling into Sweden – and now they have also revealed specifications and price for their first model: P5.
In terms of specifications, the European cars get a battery of 66 kWh, which should last up to 465 km WLTP. This is partly due to a very aerodynamic design (0.223 cd). The engine power is not specified, however, Xpeng reveals that those who want to clock accelerations in a P5 end up in 7.8 seconds for the journey zero to 100 km / h.
It is worth knowing that the cargo space is 520 liters, of which 450 of these are above floor. The remaining 70 liters are space where you can throw in cables or something else.
On the technology side, it can be mentioned that the car can handle V2L and can be updated remotely. In addition, the P5 has 17 different radar sensors and 13 cameras for the driver assistance system “Xpilot”. This must be able to semi-automatic driving on the road and to park the car “under the driver’s supervision”.
Does the voice assistant come in Swedish?
Xpeng also states that they have a “flexible voice assistant” with which you should be able to perform commands such as opening the sun visor, changing driving mode or other tasks. Unfortunately, it is not yet clear whether the assistant works for the Swedish language.
So what is the cost of a Xpeng P5? Well, it starts at SEK 550,000. This means that the Chinese newcomer is more expensive than the Polestar 2, which in the front-wheel drive version costs SEK 509,000. However, it is cheaper than the rear-wheel drive Tesla Model 3, which starts at SEK 614,170.
Those who order will get a car later this year. When Ny Teknik interviewed Nordic manager Elvis Cheng, he said that the company aims to start delivering in September.
