TGRI’s Debut at the GT Asia 2023 Event, Strong Determination to Take Action at the International Level

DAPURPACU – The debut of Toyota Gazoo Racing Indonesia (TGRI) at the GT World Challenge Asia 2023 event in Buriram, Thailand, was quite successful as a factory racing team.

Taking place at the Chang International Circuit, May 13-14, Haridarma Manoppo and Seita Nonaka were able to gain valuable experience driving the GR Supra GT4.

Falling in the GT4 Category, both of them considered it an honor and an interesting experience to be able to take part in this prestigious touring race.

Haridarma also considered that the presence of Nonaka san also provided a lot of input to get to know the car’s character better, so that he could anticipate what would happen during the race.

“In conclusion, in this event we get a lot of new experiences. The goal is, when later in the next race, we can be even better at preparing everything,” he said.

“The duet with Nonaka also gave me knowledge, because we did data comparisons through loggers and video on board,” he explained in an official broadcast, Thursday (18/5).

Toshio Obara, President Director of PT TCD Asia Pacific Indonesia, said that the participation of the Indonesian racing team in this international event is another important value that they want to give.

The man who also doubles as a TGRI Advisor explained that the participation of the TGRI team in the race was intended to provide improvements in several aspects.

“In Indonesia, we already know this team has extraordinary preparations and achievements. Now going through this event is a stepping stone to the international level,” he added.

Obara explained, the team could see in this race there was the GT3 Category and see what kind of preparations they made before the race.

“In terms of preparation they did very well. Here there is also a transfer of knowledge from TOM’S who already has a lot of experience in international racing and is given to TGRI,” concluded Obara. [dp/TH]
