Among the many Tesla-branded projects, cars are certainly the ones that have gained the most footing around the world. Even here in Italy it can happen, even quite often, to peer around some four-wheeled model of the Elon Musk brand. One of the peculiarities of these cars is closely linked to the gaming world, given that you can play a variety of titles directly from the touch screen present in cars.
Apparently, however, it seems that this functionality will be resized in the near future through a new update, which will allow you to play only when the Tesla car is not in motion. It all started when the US opened a formal investigation into a report that Tesla vehicles allow people to play video games on a central touch screen while driving.
In a document posted online, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says the feature, called “Passenger Play,” could distract the driver and increase the risk of accidents. The agency also said that the game functionality has been available in Tesla cars since December 2020. Prior to that date, titles in the cars could only be played in parking mode.
Due to these pressures, Tesla has already announced that an update will be released soon it will prevent access to the gaming functions while the car is in motion.
