Isabella Emilie Birkbøll has been appointed as the new head of the legal and regulatory area at Telenor.
With her, she has many years of experience as a compliance officer in the financial world, most recently at Codan, where she helped handle sales to Alm. Fire.
39-year-old Isabella Emilie Birkbøll is employed as the new Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs in Telenor Denmark from 1 October. From now on, she will be at the head of the company’s legal and regulatory work, with responsibility for meeting the special rules that apply in the telecommunications industry.
Here she comes i.a. to work with topics such as privacy and data protection based on the increasing digitization and legislation in the area. In addition, Isabella must contribute to creating the best framework conditions for Telenor’s business in Denmark with a view to launching new solutions in the market, entering into partnerships and contracts etc.
Isabella comes to Telenor with more than 12 years of experience from the financial sector. In her most recent position, she was employed as a compliance officer at Codan, where she, among other things, helped handle the separation and spin-off of the Danish activities from RSA, which ended with the sale to Alm. Fire. Before that, she held similar positions for a number of years in Santander Consumer Bank and Lægernes Pension & Bank.
“I am very much looking forward to trying myself in a new industry, where the conditions are different from those I have been used to from the financial world. This applies to both the task of getting to know the rules of the game in the telecommunications industry and advising Telenor’s business units in relation to the development of new products and services. In addition, I am naturally also very excited to have to lead and motivate a new, larger team with several different skills,” says Isabella Emilie Birkbøll, new Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at Telenor.
“We are very much looking forward to having a capacity like Isabella on board the team. At Telenor, we make a virtue of running a responsible business, where the legal and regulatory area is in many ways the foundation for everything we do. Therefore, it is absolutely crucial for us to have a profile like Isabella, who can both navigate the complex framework conditions in the industry and at the same time be a commercial sparring partner for the business,” says Mette Eistrøm Krüger, Group Director for HR, Communication & Law at Telenor.
Isabella takes over the position from Jonas Birk Soya Jakobsen, who has moved on internally to a position as Vice President in Telenor’s purchasing company in Singapore.
Isabella lives in Brønshøj with her husband and two girls aged 10 and 7.
