Telemach last year

In 2020, as the coronavirus pandemic largely shifted life to the Internet, telecom operators played an important role in enabling and maintaining interpersonal contacts for both business and educational and private purposes.

A review of the flight shows that Telemach As a provider of fixed services and the fastest growing mobile operator in Slovenia, it successfully faced the challenges of increasing the load on the mobile and fixed network, thus providing its users with the highest quality services and thus once again proving its reliability and flexibility.

In March, immediately after the first outbreak, Telemach recorded a sharp increase in traffic in all segments. In just a few days, they successfully completed all the necessary upgrades and doubled the capacity of both mobile and fixed network. This meant that, despite the increased workload, their users were able to use all the services completely smoothly. Internet traffic congestion, which increased by as much as 40 percent, were fueled by a number of factors – from distance learning and working from home to the increased demand for online shopping. The increased workload was perceived in Telemach throughout the day, all days of the week. During this period, they also recorded a 60% increase in voice traffic on the mobile network.

The increased workload was constant even after the summer easing of measures, and this trend continued during the second wave. In the autumn, the increase in traffic on the Internet was 30%, while voice traffic on the mobile increased by 20%.. During this time, Telemach has further increased Internet speeds in its EON packages to provide users with even faster and most advanced services.

Compared to last year December, mobile network data traffic increased by 30 percent, the number of SMS messages increased by 10 percent and the number of MMS messages by as much as 40 percent.

In general, the amount of traffic is constantly growing, which can be attributed to the increasingly demanding broadband Internet and video services, which are the result of changed user habits. To this end, Telemach constantly conducts analyzes, plans and expands network capacities in accordance with the results, and invests intensively in the continuous improvement of the quality of its services. They also testify that they are successful in this two certificates, which they received in 2020, namely Best in Test for the best mobile and fixed network according to the user experience in Slovenia.

Care for employees, users and society

Telemach estimates that they were well prepared for the challenges posed by 2020 and responded accordingly. Their work processes went smoothly throughout, allowing them to redirect their users to the web, where they could safely and carefree make purchases and use other services, while staying in touch with their loved ones. Hundreds of thousands of users, however they also provided the main source of entertainment, as they included even more high-definition programs in their programming schemes and increased the number of movies and series in the video library..

The company also paid special attention to its employees, who provided them with appropriate information and protection. They provided training and awareness-raising on all preventive measures, as well as provided appropriate protective equipment and delighted employees with health packages with vitamins.

In 2020, solidarity was even more at the forefront than before. Pri Telemachu together with the United Group, they donated half a million dollars to purchase protective equipment, but they have not forgotten the hardship that distance learning represents many socially disadvantaged. To this end, more than 100 students were donated tablets and Internet access. They will continue with their socially responsible activities in this field in the future.
