An 8-minute video of sexual harassment of multiple students in the name of teaching at a coaching center has gone viral on Facebook. Netizens are sharing the viral video on Facebook and demanding justice for the accused teacher. The video, which went viral, showed a teacher teaching a group of students in a room. As long as he is teaching, he keeps his hands in the touch of the students.
Again he is pulling the lips of a student and taking it to his own mouth. He is walking around with a cane in his hand as the students feel b’brat. According to the investigation, the video, which recently went viral on social media Facebook, belonged to Nurul Haque Sardar, the headmaster of Sonar Bangla Secondary School in Uzirpur upazila of Barisal. He opened a coaching center for female students in a rented room next to the school. This video of sexual harassment of the students who came to study at the coaching center was first spread in the area in June 2016 through the locals.
Even at that time, the video was widely criticized and several news items were published in various national and local dailies. Besides, human chain program was also observed in the area. According to local sources, the leaders of Barisal Mahila Parishad and Women’s Department had discussed the offensive video of teacher Nurul Haque with the local administration in 2016. Later, departmental action was taken against the accused teacher Nurul Haque through the then Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jhumur Bala of the local administration.
At the same time, after investigating the incident from the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Education stopped the salary and allowance of teachers from July of that year. He was also expelled from the school at the same time. Later, in May 2019, the accused teacher Nurul filed a case in the High Court against the Ministry of Education seeking salary and allowances. The source further said that after the withdrawal, the teacher did not come to the school for a long time hiding himself.
However, after Shikarpur UP chairman Sarwar Hossain became the chairman of the school management committee, teacher Nurul was seen at the school again due to invisible reasons. Even though the Ministry of Education has banned it, teacher Nurul has illegally taken classes in the school even before the Corona epidemic on the instructions of the UP chairman.
Meanwhile, Nurul Haque Sardar, a teacher accused of making the video of 2017 viral again on Facebook four years later, said that at present, the old video is being spread again by a group focusing on the recruitment of teachers in the school.
