The music was written for a future musical theater play. The theme of the record is a love story embedded in the life of a gypsy camp, where wandering is their life, they can never really arrive, because their home is the road itself.
Gypsy music is part of universal Hungarian culture. Tamás Szárka reached back to the roots of this music,
inspired by it, he wrote the songs of the Esthajnal album, at the same time commemorating his maternal grandfather Károly Sárközi, who was the famous gypsy primate of the Highlands.
The premiere concert will take place on August 19 at the Margitsziget Outdoor Stage.
Tamás Szarka and his band, as well as Parno Graszt and Gabi Tóth, conjure up a fantastic performance on Margitsziget. In addition to lots of music, on the eve of our biggest national holiday, the latest short story of Tamás Szarka, written for this occasion, will be interpreted by actor Gábor Reviczky. The winners of the Esthajnal Roma talent show will also be presented at this concert.
