T-Mobile introduces its own smartphone to Poland. This is the T-Phone 5G

T-Mobile promises that T-Phone will provide “5G for every budget”.

A few days ago, we announced that a new brand of smartphones will appear on the Polish market. Today we can reveal that it is about T-Mobile. Magent boasts that they are the first operator in Poland with their own telephone.

The device was to be created in close cooperation with Google. However, the company does not specify whether and to what extent it went beyond the standard delivery of Android with a suite of applications and the granting of the Android Enterprise Recommended certificate. It proves the readiness to operate in the corporate environment.

T-Mobile is taking its first steps on the smartphone market in Poland, but globally it is not the first. In previous years, the company managed to introduce several branded devices to the market, including in Usa.

Ba – the operator contributed to the creation of the first Android smartphone in history. After all, it was T-Mobile G1, known in Poland at that time as Era G1.

T Phone 5G: prices in Poland. “5G for every budget”

T-Mobile emphasizes that the goal was to create the most affordable smartphones with 5G connectivity. Have you succeeded? The case is quite complicated.

Standard prices are quite high, but T-Mobile has prepared a promotion for the launch. If the customer selects a subscription with unlimited internet for PLN 65 or PLN 85 to the T-Phone, the operator will cover the first 6 installments. This means that the final cost of the phone is 25% lower.

The prices of new smartphones are as follows:

  • T Phone 5G (4/64 GB) – PLN 1099 (or PLN 829 with subscription);
  • T Phone 5G Pro (6/128 GB) – PLN 1399 (or PLN 1069 with a subscription).

The sale of T-Phones starts on October 5. They will be available only in T-Mobile stores and at t-mobile.pl.

T Phone has a compromise specification

The promotional slogan of new smartphones is “5G for every budget”, but in my opinion “5G at all costs” would be more accurate. The desire to provide next-generation connectivity at the lowest possible price has involved a lot of compromises.

Here is the specification of T-Phone and T-Phone Pro:

  • 6.52 inch (T Phone) or 6.82 inch (T Phone Pro) screen with LCD matrix with 720p resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate;
  • MediaTek Dimensity 700;
  • 4/64 GB (T Phone) or 6/128 GB (T Phone Pro) memory;
  • memory card slot;
  • 50 Mpix main camera with f / 1.8 aperture;
  • 5 Mpix camera with ultra wide angle lens (only in the Pro version);
  • 2 Mpix camera with macro lens;
  • 2 Mpix camera with ultra wide angle lens;
  • aparat do selfie 5 Mpix (T Phone) lub 16 Mpix (T Phone Pro);
  • 5G;
  • NFC (only in Pro version);
  • fingerprint reader in the power button;
  • 4500 (T Phone) or 5000 mAh (T Phone Pro) battery with 15 W charging;
  • wireless charging (only in the Pro version);
  • splash resistance (IP52).

For me, the biggest disadvantage of the T-Phone is the screen, which is of an extremely low quality. Especially for the Pro version, which even in the promotion costs well over PLN 1000.

T Phone Pro

The panel of T Phone and T Phone Pro has an average LCD matrix, large frames (especially the bottom one), an indentation in the screen instead of a more fashionable hole, low resolution (720p) and low refresh rate (60 Hz).

For comparison, the competitive Redmi Note 11 does not have connectivity, but its screen is AMOLED 1080p with 90 Hz refresh, a hole and smaller frames.

Even greater compromises can be seen with the cheaper model. T Phone does not have an ultra-wide angle lens or even NFC for contactless payments.

I received the T Phone Pro the day before the premiere. I was also not delighted with the low vibrations or the average mono speaker. The smartphone is also quite sluggish, but this may be the fault of the pre-production version of the software. We will take a closer look at the new T-Mobile smartphone in a few days.

The T Phone Pro has one advantage that sets it apart from the competition

T Phone Pro supports charging wireless. This makes it probably the cheapest smartphone in Poland with such a function. Even if we take into account the standard price of PLN 1399, because for the promotional PLN 1069 it is an absolute sensation at all.

T Phone Pro

T-Mobile does not reveal technical details, but I checked this feature and T Phone Pro charges wirelessly quite slowly. So I suspect that it carries a modest 5W power, but it’s better than nothing. I recently tested the OnePlus 10T, which costs PLN 3899, and it does not support inductive charging at all.

My guess is that there are people for whom the convenience of charging is a priority. In this case (and probably only such) T Phone Pro has no competition.

T-Mobile can mess up with its T Phone brand

The phones themselves did not impress me very much (apart from the aforementioned induction in the Pro), but T-Mobile has something that many brands entering the new market do not have. An extensive distribution network.

The operator has an open way to bombard us with banners on his website and promote T Phone in his own showrooms. If the customer goes to the point of sale in search of a phone for around PLN 1000, the consultant will certainly suggest choosing T Phone. The new brand has a chance to grow quickly.

T Phone goes on sale not only in Poland, but also in Austria, Croatia, Montenegro, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, North Macedonia, Germany, Romania and Hungary. The company Wingtech, which is known, among others, is responsible for the production. as one of Samsung’s subcontractors.
