Swiss group Ringier reaches an agreement for the purchase of A Bola and AutoFoco – Meios & Publicidade

Ringier Sports Media Group (RSMG), headquartered in Switzerland, and Vicontrol SGPS SA reached an agreement for the acquisition of the sports newspaper A Bola and the magazine AutoFoco. In the case of A Bola, the agreement also provides for the purchase of the A Bola TV channel.

The operation should be concluded in the next few weeks, and the amounts involved in the deal are not known. “Both parties agreed to maintain the confidentiality of the sales values ​​and the valuation of the acquired companies”, reads the statement sent to newsrooms this Tuesday.

Sociedade Vicra Desportiva, owner of the historic sporting title, is 95% owned by Mário Arga e Lima, through Vicontrol SGPS, of which it is the sole shareholder, according to information available on the Transparency Portal of the Regulatory Entity for Social Communication (ERC ). According to the most recent data, made public through this portal, for the 2021 financial year, the profits of the newspaper A Bola stood at 356 thousand euros. Vicra Desportiva, which has Arga e Lima as chairman of the board of directors, will have presented, also in 2021, a liability of 14.6 million euros, with negative equity of 2.9 million euros.
