Ingredients needed:

  • 125 g of short grain rice
  • 1 l mleka
  • A bit of salt
  • 150-180 g of sugar
  • A teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 cups whipped cream
  • 1-2 handfuls of blanched, peeled and chopped almonds
  • Cherry sauce or jam

Put the milk in a bowl to boil, be careful not to burn it, add the rice and let it simmer for about an hour, stirring occasionally. Add a pinch of salt.

At the end, mix in the sugar and vanilla extract and leave the rice to cool.

Just before serving, mix almonds and whipped cream into the rice.

Arrange the rice in small bowls and place the cherry sauce or jam on top.

Note: You can make cherry sauce by putting 450g of frozen cherries in a bowl, add a little cinnamon and 200g of sugar (or less) and cook everything until it thickens and you get a thick sauce.
