Sustainability | Responsibility

Sustainable fashion? There is no such thing.
This is our take on it.

We are not sustainable. On the contrary, sustainability is something we strive for every day. That is why we emphasize responsibility. Such as using recycled and organic fabrics, not just for some, but for all of our products. Controlling the entire production chain, from factory to product, down to all people involved. And work together with certified partners such as GOTS, Aquafil and Waste2Wear. They also check us.

Our approach is simple: say less, do more. And if it doesn’t feel right, we don’t do it at all.

GOTS organic cotton

GOTS is recognized as the world’s leading processing standard for textiles made from organic fibres.

GOTS defines high-level environmental criteria for the entire supply chain of organic textiles, from plant to product. It does not allow the use of genetically modified seeds and limits the use of many chemicals, making it safe for the environment, farmers and you! It still uses water and land, but it helps to sustain the land it is grown on through crop rotation, natural ways to control pesticides, and mostly it’s grown on rain-dependent soil. GOTS certified organic cotton is the only cotton we use in most of our products, from boxer shorts to undershirts.

Organic cotton is a big step in the right direction.

Regenerated Nylon

The ECONYL® Regeneration System starts with salvaging waste such as abandoned fishing nets from oceans and other nylon waste from landfills around the world.

All that nylon waste, which would otherwise pollute our planet, is then sorted, cleaned and converted into regenerated ECONYL® nylon. It is then processed into clothing and accessories. We work with ECONYL® nylon for our sock collection, not only to give them the right amount of flexibility, but also to avoid creating unnecessary waste when making our socks. Instead of using new raw materials, we are a big fan of recovering, recycling and reusing. The ECONYL® fiber does not cause any additional waste and does not use new raw materials.

It’s all about creating endless possibilities.

Recycled Polyester

Since 2008, Waste2Wear has invested a huge amount of time and energy in research and development to make innovative, high-quality fabrics from recycled PET bottles.

All our swimwear and activewear is made by Waste2Wear from recycled plastics. The Waste2Wear® blockchain system provides irrefutable proof that Waste2Wear® fabrics are really made from plastic waste, and that there is no subcontracting involved. All products come with an environmental impact assessment. So far, millions of plastic bottles have been recovered by volunteers and former fishermen through projects such as the Ocean Plastic Project. Waste2Wear continues until there are no more plastic bottles polluting our planet.

Waste2Wear hopes to be redundant one day.
