jatim.jpnn.comPROBOLINGGO – The Probolinggo Regency BPBD reported that as many as 40 students and one teacher fell into the river from a height in the broken bridge incident in Kregenan Village, Kraksaan District, Friday (9/9).

The suspension bridge is a link between Kregenan Village (Kec. Kraksaan) and Pajarakan Kulon Village (Kec. Pajarakan) which is often used by residents in the two local villages.

The supervisor of the Probolinggo BPBD’s Disaster Management Operations Control Center, Aries Setyawan, denied the information that said there were deaths.

“A total of 28 people suffered minor injuries and 13 people were referred to the Waluyo Jati Hospital for further examination,” he said.

A total of 41 people affected by the broken bridge incident in Probolinggo were initially rushed to the Pajarakan Health Center.

However, 13 of them need to get more intensive treatment at Waluyo Jati Hospital, Kraksaan.

“The Disaster Management Rapid Response Team has conducted an assessment and the Pusdalops is coordinating with the government and local volunteers regarding the incident,” he said.

He also said that the Probolinggo Regency Government would bear the medical costs of the victims who fell. (between/faz/jpnn)
