KTO Karatay University Continuing Education Application and Research Center (KARSEM) responds to an important need by contributing to the employment of qualified workforce. The exam fees of Konya Chamber of Commerce members and employees in the relevant professions will be covered by the EU Grant II Fund and the Unemployment Insurance Fund through KARSEM.

Konya Chamber of Commerce President Selçuk Öztürk, who made a statement on the subject, makes the following comments: “We attach great importance to projects for vocational training and employment in line with the interests of our members in all affiliates of our chamber. Continuing Education Application and Research Center (KARSEM), which was established within the body of KTO Karatay University, also carries out important studies in this sense. KARSEM, which undertakes an important mission for our city and region, carries out vocational qualification examination and certification procedures as an Authorized Certification Body accredited by TÜRKAK and authorized by the Vocational Qualifications Authority. According to the Vocational Qualifications Authority legislation, non-governmental organizations can pay exam fees on behalf of their members or their employees as a social responsibility project in order to contribute to the qualified workforce and professional development in order to carry out the examination and certification activities more effectively. Construction Painter, Wood Formworker, Reinforced Concrete Blacksmith, Plasterer, Thermal Insulator, Mason, which are in the ‘Dangerous and Very Dangerous Works’ class, and Motor Land Vehicles Purchasing and Selling Supervisor and Consultant within the scope of the ‘Direct Grant-II Protocol for European Union Certification’. Our Chamber will be able to provide support in the professional competence examination and certification activities to be carried out by. In this context, as the Konya Chamber of Commerce, we will ensure that the exam fees of our members or their employees can be covered by the EU fund and the unemployment insurance fund.”

Meanwhile, KARSEM has implemented vocational training courses organized within the scope of the Opportunity to Life Project in cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO) in recent years. Within the scope of the project, vocational training courses were organized in 10 different fields (Water-Based Painting, Foreign Trade, Legal Affairs, Pre-Accounting, Woven Surface Machinery, Women’s Basic Skirt Sewing, AutoCAD, Counters) by the Continuing Education Center of KTO Karatay University. With the Opportunity for Life Project, it was aimed to empower Turkish citizens and Syrians under Temporary Protection economically and socially.
