A drug addict named Al Amin (22) committed suicide by hanging himself in Bhurungamari, Kurigram. He is the son of deceased Abdul Khalek near Dhamerhat Bazar in Tilai Union of Upazila.
He committed suicide by hanging a rope with a water tank pipe between two buildings of Tilai Union Parishad last Thursday night.
According to local sources, the dead young man always took drugs. Sometimes used to work in a hotel in Dhamerhat Bazar to earn money for drugs. He even used to steal from various shops and houses. In this regard, the Union Parishad had several cases of arbitration.
Village Police Solaiman and Dhamerhat Bazar night watchman Abdul Hai said that they saw Al Amin walking around Dhamerhat Bazar even around 2 am on Thursday. In the meantime, when the rain stops, we leave. Then on Friday I found her body hanging from the water line pipe. Later the police was informed.
Bhurungamari police station officer-in-charge Nazrul Islam confirmed the truth of the incident and said that his body was sent to Kurigram morgue for post-mortem on Friday afternoon.
