Public Relations of the DKI Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) Mulat Wijayanto said the fire in an angkot serving the Pasar Minggu-Ciganjur route occurred around 20.30 WIB.

A total of two branwir units and nine personnel were deployed to extinguish the fire that burned the M20 angkot.

The driver immediately asked for help from local residents and contacted the DKI Jakarta Gulkarmat Service.

“The cause of the fire is thought to be due to an electrical short in the battery,” said Mulat.

There were no fatalities or injuries in the incident.

The fire was extinguished by firefighters in about 25 minutes.

The M20 angkot driver immediately asked residents for help. Losses are estimated at Rp 80 million.
