Stop the escalating violations inside prisons, the deterioration of the health of a detained university professor, and freedom for “Asmaa” and “Jaafar”

With the escalation of humanitarian violations in prisons with the advent of the summer, Al-Shehab Center for Human Rights called for an end to all forms of violations and neglect in prisons and places of detention.

He stated that he had received complaints about the escalation of violations inside prisons, with the advent of summer and the increase in heat, including a letter dated June 19, which revealed that detainees spend in the best cases 22 hours inside the rooms and are only taken out for exercise for only two hours.

The message pointed out that the temperature during these days is unbearable inside the cells with the crowding of numbers inside one room, which caused the spread of diseases among them, especially skin diseases and colds.

She emphasized that some cases are close to the end of life due to the lack of facilities, treatment and poor ventilation in light of the prevention of visits and the inhuman humiliation of families if some are allowed to visit.

She concluded the message that reached the Al-Shehab Center that what happens to detainees inside prisons is a slow death, so do not believe the illusions of reconciliation and national dialogue.

The deterioration of the health condition of the detainee, “Mohamed Hussein”, a professor at Suez University

Al-Shehab also called for the immediate release of the professor at Suez University, “Mohammed Hussein Mahmoud Al-Janaini” because of his health conditions, and the cessation of all forms of violations and medical negligence in prisons and places of detention.

He stated that his family noticed, during his recent visit, that his teeth and molars fell out, and he was unable to eat or chew, in addition to the liver and kidney diseases he suffered, in addition to his severe psychological disorders that increased after his imprisonment, and his family demanded that he be transferred to the hospital to receive the necessary treatment.

He was arrested in 2019 in Suez, and despite the Public Prosecution’s decision to release him, he was recycled in connection with Case No. 1056 of 2020, for which he is being held in pretrial detention until now, and the medical reports submitted to the Public Prosecution did not succeed in releasing him.

It is noteworthy that the victim is the international theater director who won the gold medal for the show (Umm al-Dunya) during his representation of Egypt at the Baghdad International Festival, and won first place in the Arab world twice in a row, in the Baghdad International Festival and the Kurdistan International Festival.

He is the founder of the Suez Troupe for Street Theater and the Ahfad Walad al-Ard Heritage Troupe. He is a professor at Suez University and director of the university’s team. He was responsible for directing the national celebrations of the October Victory and the Suez National Day voluntarily every year.

588 days after the arrest of “Asmaa Abdel Raouf” and depriving her of taking care of her daughter

The coup forces continue to detain Mrs. “Asmaa El-Sayed Abdel-Raouf” in pretrial detention for the 588th consecutive day, after they arbitrarily arrested her from her home in Sharkia Governorate on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.

We Record a human rights organization documented a party of the violations that “Asmaa” was subjected to at the hands of the coup forces, including enforced disappearance for 37 days before presenting her for investigation to the Supreme Coup Security Prosecution on December 17, 2020, which ordered her detention pending case No. 680 of 2020 for allegedly joining A terrorist group founded in violation of the law and the constitution.

She indicated that the detainee is the wife of the detainee, “Mohamed Al-Yaserji”, who has been detained since 2019, and is the mother of a 6-year-old girl, who was deprived of the mother’s tenderness and father’s care after their arrest in the series of crimes of the Sisi regime that turned against the Egyptian family.

Freedom for “Jaafar Al-Zafarani” who has been in Sisi’s prisons for more than 8 years

In addition, Najda Organization for Human Rights called for the freedom of the detainee “Jaafar Al-Zafarani” and monitored, through a video graph, the most prominent violations he has been subjected to since his arrest on March 4, 2014, five months after the birth of his only daughter, “Amna.”

It stated that he was subjected to enforced disappearance and severe torture for 12 days in Giza Central Prison and remained in pretrial detention pending a case on politicized charges, including joining a banned group.

On October 22, 2017, “Jaafar” was sentenced to life imprisonment by a court that did not meet any standards of fair litigation and the coup authorities and the concerned authorities ignore the pleas and demands of his family and human rights organizations to lift the injustice against him and stop the violations he is subjected to without real guilt.

He was imprisoned in Minya prison 3 years ago in conditions that do not meet the minimum standards of human safety and health, which prompted him to go on hunger strike twice, and he was transferred between a number of prisons, including Istikbal Tora Prison and Giza Central Prison.
