Speaker mourns the death of MP Farooq

In a condolence message today, Monday (May 15), the Speaker prayed for the repose of his soul and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and well-wishers.

It should be noted that Akbar Hossain Pathan (Farooq) died while undergoing treatment at Singapore’s Mount Elizabeth Hospital at approximately 10 am on Monday (May 15). He was 74 years old at the time of his death.

Akbar Hossain Pathan (Farooq) was elected Member of Parliament on the nomination of Bangladesh Awami League from Dhaka-17 Constituency in the 11th National Parliament Elections. He was serving as a member of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
