Sony presents the new Xperia 1V smartphone

Sony presents the Xperia 1 V, the world’s first flagship smartphone equipped with a newly developed 2-layer Transistor Pixel CMOS image sensor. Xperia 1 V is equipped with Sony’s cutting-edge technology, meeting the high-end needs of creators while supporting the next generation of creators who want to shoot or deliver their content with pride.

Content recording upgrade

Xperia 1 V raises the bar with its newly developed image sensor that depicts rich colors and textures of people, landscapes and scenes even in dark conditions. Due to the combination of low-light performance, which is approximately double that of the previous modeli, and Xperia 1 V’s high-speed superimposed multi-frame processing technology, it is possible to capture a noise-free photo with a wider dynamic range that is equivalent to a full-frame cameraii. The 24mm lens on the back of the Xperia 1 V is equipped with a CMOS 2-layer Transistor Pixel stacked “Exmor T for mobile” image sensor, which is about 1.7 times larger than the previous image sensor. Additionally, the 85-125mm (F2.3-F2.8) optical zoom lens enables bright portraits with little distortion.

S-Cinetone, known by filmmakersiii, has been adapted and installed for mobile. Since the texture of human skin can be beautifully expressed when shooting, it is possible to capture it as a stunning cinematic image as it is, without color gradation. In addition, the new sensor has approximately three times the saturation signal levelii compared to the conventional sensor, while unique image quality processing suppresses the noise that tends to appear in dark scenes, resulting in beautiful images with soft colors.

The Xperia 1 V has a wealth of features, including color presets such as Creative Look, also found in the Alpha series cameras, and high-performance real-time AF (auto focus). Various color settings are preset, such as colorful flowers and a clear blue sky, or creating a soft, transparent finish. Xperia’s high-performance real-time eye AIiv and real-time trackingiv enable shooting in focus on the eyes of a person or a specific subject. With depth AI that analyzes distance information, even distant subjects can be clearly focused. In addition, high-speed continuous shooting of up to 30 frames per second with AF/AEv tracking is now available so that no moment is lost.

Improved Vlog experience

The Xperia 1 V caters to the needs of all creators with the Product Showcase setting, which is a popular feature in Sony’s VLOGCAM range and shifts the camera’s focus to the product, rather than the reviewer’s face, when shooting. In addition, a new voice-priority microphone is placed near the rear camera. Even when you’re in a busy outdoor location, the creator’s voice is captured clearly, making it easy to transition from shooting to releasing video. When streaming live on YouTube™ via the “Videography Pro” video recording feature, conversations from viewers can be simultaneously displayed in the comments section, allowing direct interaction with viewersvi in ​​real time. The UI also supports portrait capture so you can capture content in any orientation, either portrait or landscapevii.

Immersive experience

The newest Xperia flagship smartphone houses a 6.5-inch 4K OLED display with a 120Hzviii refresh rate and less blur. The powerful and noise-reduced speaker amplifier improves the spread and depth of sound, as well as the extension of low and high frequencies, creating a more dynamic and clear sound. Xperia 1 V offers an authentic movie and music viewing experience without the need for an additional speaker.

Long lasting battery power and powerful CPU

Despite using the 4K screen, continuous video playback of around 20 hoursxi is possible with the powerful 5,000mAh battery. It supports wireless charging, 30-minute quick charge to 50% xii, and in addition, Xperia’s unique charging optimization technology serves users with a battery that retains 80% or more of its maximum capacityxiii even after 3 years.

By improving power consumption and heat dissipation, Xperia 1 V achieves high performance and durability, and long-time shooting is possible while suppressing heat build-up. Based on the Snapdragon® 8 Gen2 smartphone platform, CPU energy efficiency has been improved by approximately 40% compared to the previous modelxiv. The power consumption during camera operation has been reduced by about 20%, and the volume of the heat dissipation sheet has been increased by about 60% for the heat dissipation performance of the main unit.

Accessibility and sustainability

Continuing efforts to provide wider accessibility, the Xperia 1 V has an option in Photo Pro mode that informs users with sounds about the horizontal and vertical measurement displayed on the screen.

The Sony Group has set a “Road to Zero” environmental plan with the goal of zero environmental burden by 2050. Style Cover with Stand for Xperia 1 V

Xperia 1 V’s exclusive protective cover features a grip at the bottom of the center unit to enhance the shooting experience. In addition to the conventional horizontal stand, it also supports vertical support, making it easy to use not only for watching videos but also for live streaming and video chatting. The back of the protective cover incorporates the embossed design applied to the back of the “Xperia 1 V” body, so that the original design of the device is not altered even when the protective cover is attached.
