Sony has announced the arrival to its audio catalog of a new Sound bar high-mid-range compatible with Dolby Atmos y DTS:X which they have baptized with the name of HT-A5000.
We are faced with a model that comes standard without external subwoofer (although we can buy one separately) and that integrates multiple drivers under its housing with which to offer a sound system equivalent to a 5.1.2 channel set. These are processed in turn using the technologies Vertical Surround Engine and S-Force PRO Front Surround manufacturer.
The first is in charge of expand the sound field on the vertical axis simulating the experience of having speakers installed in the ceiling, while S-Force PRO Front Surround is responsible for recreating an even wider horizontal sound field.
Technology is also included Sound Field Optimization With which, thanks to its integrated microphones, it measures the height and width of the room as well as the position of the possible subwoofer and rear speakers if we have them, optimizing the set to offer a more homogeneous acoustic response.
9 amplifiers, two subwoofers and 450 watts
The bar has dimensions of 1210 x 67 x 140 mm and a total of 9 amplifiers offering a total of 450 watts. These stages are divided between dos tweeters placed at the ends that bounce the sound off the side walls and expand the surround sound, as well as with three front channels, two drivers on the top pointing to the ceiling for the Atmos effects and two other front oval drivers that double as subwoofers.
As for digital processing, the equipment comes with the DSEE Extreme technology which uses the Edge-AI system to scale compressed digital music files in real time by replacing the high frequencies that are lost in compression in formats such as MP3 and the like.
It is compatible with High-Resolution Audio and Sony 360 Reality Audio sound system present in streaming services such as Amazon Music HD, Deezer, nugs.net and TIDAL.
Connectivity is served by a puerto HDMI 2.1 supports 8K HDR, 4K120 and Dolby Vision video. We also have WiFi, Bluetooth, Chromecast and Apple Airplay 2. In addition, if we have a Sony BRAVIA television we can make use of the Acoustic Center Sync function that turns the TV into a central speaker of the set.
Price and availability
The sound bar Sony HT-A5000 will have an approximate price of 900 euros and will be available from June 2022.
