Someone revived a never-before-released Voodoo 5 video card

Although the fan artwork is not exactly the same as the original hardware, but it may not be a negative.

For several years now, only Nvidia and AMD have been competing with each other in the video card market, but around the turn of the millennium, 3dfx Interactive was also a serious competitor, and the company, which has since ceased to exist, can be considered a real pioneer. Voodoo series video cards are still a real relic for many fans, but there was a GPU that was never released, but someone still managed to more or less revive it.

Anthony, who works on the Mod Labs forum, decided to make the Voodoo 5 6000 video card, which would have been a particularly percussive hardware many years ago, only 3dfx didn’t launch it. Instead of the green-printed circuit board, which is specifically old-school, Anthony made a black variant on which he placed four VSA-100 chips, of course with a separate cooling system.

Anthony’s card has a 4-pin Molex connector, so the hardware can even be packed into today’s machine. Except for minor changes, this fan creation theoretically performs exactly the same as the original Voodoo 5 6000, as the BIOS, driver, and even bugs were copied one at a time.

What was your favorite Voodoo card for you?
