SOCHIN karate club won 31 medals of Latgale karate championship

At the end of March, the 5th Latgale Karate Championship – WKF Latgales Karatē Čempionats 2022 was held in the gym of the Daugavpils Volleyball School.

The Latgale Championship was held on two tatami in the disciplines of SUMO (wrestling), KATA (demonstrations) and KUMITE (fights) and brought together 180 athletes from 14 clubs in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.

Daugavpils SOCHIN karate club became the organizer of the championship of Latgale (president – Sergei Ivankotrainers – Alisa Ivanko And Maxim Lindenov) together with the Latvian Karate Federation and the City Sports Administration.

The judging of the Latgale championship was carried out by the referee committee of the Latvian Karate Federation (chief judge – Alexander Kudryavtsev). SOCHIN karate club in the judiciary was represented by a coach Alisa Ivanko and club members Arina Ivanko And Nikolay Romantsevich.

Results of the Championship in the team medal standings:

5th place – KARATĒ KLUB IPPON (Latvia, Dobele).
3rd place – OKU KARATE AKADEMY (Lithuania, Kaunas)
2nd place – KARATE SEN-E – OGRE (Latvia, Ogre).
1st place – VASILYEVS KARATE SHOOL (Latvia, Riga).

All medal winners received cash prizes. Encouraging prizes were awarded to Lithuanian teams – OKU (Kaunas), ZARASU SC (Zarasai) and SENSHO (Tallinn).

SOCHIN karate club represented 41 athletes, the club was represented by a coach at the championship Maxim Lindenov.

In total, club athletes (without sumo) won 3 gold, 11 silver and 17 bronze medals. Performed especially well Vladislav Valainis, Leo Golovkin, Mikhail Lukyanets, Zlata Malinovska.

Ahead of SOCHIN karate club athletes is the Fuji Championship, which will be held on April 3 in Riga.
