Snow in the Czech Republic was complicated all day by snow. Some moves are closed

According to meteorologists, it will snow at night and on Wednesday, especially in the border mountains and in the Vysočina region. There is also a risk of icing in the Czech Republic at night. The snowfall complicated the lives of drivers, especially for the last time in the middle of last week.

Persistent snowfall this morning has complicated traffic in the Liberec region, where a layer of snow lies on the main routes. The problems were mainly with trucks, on the climbs. The trapped trucks complicated traffic near Turnov, Železný Brod, ascending Stružinec, Jablonec or Liberec. Especially in the Semily region, police officers registered an increased number of traffic accidents. “While on other days the Semily traffic police officers go to two or three accidents, today they documented nine at 14:00,” police spokeswoman Ivana Baláková told ČTK.

Police officers in the Ústí nad Labem Region also went to many traffic accidents. Although road workers have all the equipment in operation there, they do not recommend a trip to the Ore Mountains without winter equipment. Snow tongues form on mountain roads.

Already in the morning, road workers closed the road from Šemnice to Andělská Hora in the Karlovy Vary region due to a continuous layer of ice. “Trucks heading to the Kyselka mineral water bottling plant often shorten their journey here, and they are at risk of falling off the road,” Jan Bureš (ODS), Deputy Governor of the Karlovy Vary Region, explained the reasons for the closure.

Today, three accidents occurred in a row on the D5 motorway in the Tachov region, all of which were related to the adaptation of driving speed to weather conditions and the condition of the road on which there was a snow layer, police spokeswoman Dagmar Jiroušková told ČTK. Another accident, which claimed two injured people, also happened on the road between the villages of Šťáhlava and Starý Plzenec, rescuers informed.

Fresh snow complicated the lives of motorists in eastern Bohemia as well. Drivers must be especially careful in the Jičín, Trutnov and Náchod regions, where snow also lies on higher class roads. Roads are also snowy in the Iron Mountains. Snow tongues are formed in the Svitavy region.

Roads in the Vysočina region should be passable with caution. Traffic in the region was complicated by several trucks, which blocked the road I / 34 near Jitkov between Ždírec nad Doubravou and Česká Bělá in the Havlíčkův Brod region.

In the afternoon, snow and glaciers began to complicate traffic in southern Moravia as well. The stuck truck stopped traffic on road 386 near Veverské Knínice in the Brno region. Bus drivers also had problems, so some lines of the regional integrated system may be delayed by up to 30 minutes.
