Skoda has announced a redesigned Karoq for next week

This year, Škoda was quite busy with the presentation of the brand new Fabia, the facelift of Kodiaq, as well as the launch of the Kushaq and Slavia models in India together with the extended Octavia Pro in China.

We’ve also seen teasers of the Eniaq iV Coupe and early design sketches showing the next generation of the flagship Superb model. The Eniaq iV received Sportline equipment, and the Scala was introduced in the 190-horsepower S sports edition.

What’s next? Karoq will receive a redesigned version on November 30th. Before that happens, the Czech brand has released a teaser image showing its updated compact crossover with gold-brown paint and cool aluminum wheels with aero elements in the same style as those of the all-new Fabia where they are available in sizes 16 and 17 inches.

Available in a 4 × 4 variant with an optional panoramic roof, the Karoq for 2022 gets thinner LED headlights with Matrix technology coming from larger and more expensive Škoda models. It is similar in the rear where the rear lights retain their shape, but with “especially attractive” graphics.

Expect power to be provided by the cleanest and most efficient VW Group petrol and diesel engines, including the three-cylinder 1.0-liter TSI for the base model and then the four-cylinder 1.5 TSI.

The top-of-the-line petrol engine should be a 2.0 TSI with 190 horsepower and we’re pretty sure the 2.0 TDI diesel will continue to live in the redesigned Karoqu.

Some of the four-cylinder engines will be available with all-wheel drive. The plug-in hybrid is already off.

The Škoda Karoq for 2022 will build on the success of the previous version, which was Škoda’s second best-selling model last year and in the first half of 2021, right after the Octavia. More than half a million units have been sold since the launch of the compact crossover on the market four years ago.
