Škoda Enyaq was on the podium in July

Update: 29.08.2022 18:30

In July, the product of Škoda Auto from Mladá Boleslav took the third place in the order of the most requested electric cars on the European market for new passenger cars.

In the first month of this year’s summer holidays, exactly 4,654 Enyaq iVs in both body variants were registered for operation.

It is only 235 copies less than the Volkswagen ID.4 in second place. The best seller is again the Fiat 500 electric, which was the only one to cross the five thousand mark.

However, in the ranking based on sales results for the first seven months of this year, the Italian electric car is beaten by two Teslas. It leads the Tesla Model Y ahead of the “three”.

Volkswagen ID.4 is in fourth place, and Škoda Enyaq has jumped to fifth. More customers bought this car this year than, for example, the Renault Zoe, the best-selling European electric car for many years, or the Peugeot e-208, as well as the Hyundai Kona Electric car produced in our territory.

In Europe, the electric vehicle segment (which includes both “pure” electric cars and plug-in hybrid cars) maintained a share of 19 percent of the total market pie in July. It’s not just increasing because sales of plug-in hybrid cars fell by a quarter year-on-year. On the contrary, battery electric cars recorded a nineteen percent growth.

The largest European producer of electric cars this year is BMW ahead of another premium German brand, Mercedes-Benz. However, they benefit from relatively high sales of plug-in hybrids. Third place is held by Volkswagen ahead of Tesla.

From the point of view of automotive concerns, of course, Volkswagen dominates the market. It is followed by Stellantis and Hyundai.
