Skoda built a tuned car from the factory

Skoda built a tuned car from the factory. This is the Scala Edition S. The Czech compact receives 190 horsepower and is more expensive than the Mercedes-Benz A-Class with similar power.

Skoda Scala replaced the old Rapid in the range of the Czech manufacturer and was a hit in its first year on the market. Over 36,000 units were delivered in 2019, and in 2020, the model was chosen by 53,000 customers.

Skoda is now offering entertainment enthusiasts the new Scala Edition S, built in partnership with the ABT Sportline tuner. The modified car, in 1.5 TSI version, now comes with 190 horsepower and 290 Newtons meter. Resources are sent to the front axle via a six-speed manual gearbox. Before the ABT specialists intervened, this version had 150 horsepower and 250 Newton meters.

The new hot hatch is based on a Scala with top Monte Carlo equipment. The Edition S scale also received a stiffer suspension, for extra dynamism on the road, but also for a reduced ground clearance by 15 millimeters.

The Edition S scale now has 18-inch wheels, a redesigned front bumper, an air diffuser and a spoiler following the roof. Sport seats, a sports steering wheel and stainless steel paddles for changing gears took place on board.

The Skoda Scala Edition S is more expensive than a BMW or a Mercedes-Benz

Skoda and ABT will only build 500 such cars. Each of them will cost 33,790 euros. It is a price that makes the Czech sports car more expensive than a Mercedes-Benz Class A in the A200 version, with 163 horsepower, which starts at 31,520 euros.

It is cheaper than the Scala Edition S and a BMW 1 Series in the 120i version with 178 horsepower, for which the discussions start at 32,190 euros.
