Six specially trained dogs will be able to detect people infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus

Six dogs trained by the specialists of the Cynological Center from Sibiu will be able to be on the field in a short time, in the missions of detecting the people infected with the new coronavirus.

A demonstration exercise of dogs prepared for the detection of people infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus took place on Friday.

Border Police and Transport Police structures can use these canine crews to carry out checks in certain crowded areas, such as border crossing points or airports, not as a method of diagnosis, but as a complementary measure in the fight against the pandemic.

Such initiatives are being developed in other European countries, such as Germany, Finland, France or the United Kingdom, according to a statement.
