“Against the background of the prolongation of the humanitarian crisis caused by the war in Ukraine, the Romanian Orthodox Church continued its extensive social-philanthropic actions.
During this period, on the online platform ajutăcubucurie.ro of the Romanian Patriarchate in collaboration with the Philanthropy Federation, the amounts of 17,450 lei and 340 euros were donated.
At the level of the Romanian Patriarchate, between March 18-24, 2022, 1,926 people from among the priests and volunteers were added as participants in charitable actions.
The humanitarian support granted in the last days amounted to 1,358,889 lei, consisting of money and products (hot food, food, baby food, sanitary products, medicines, blankets, clothing, toys, etc.).

11,000 refugees are housed in Romanian monasteries
To this support are added several types of ongoing social services (translation – 9,427 beneficiaries; counseling and guidance – 8,944 beneficiaries, physician – 164 beneficiaries and EDUCATION – 6,741 beneficiaries, as well as logistical support, consisting of shelter spaces – tent / containers and transport).
Regarding the accommodation of refugees, the places for them currently amount to 11,018, of which 7,301 with meals included.

In connection with the organization of humanitarian transports, another 62 transports were made in Romania, 7 transports in Ukraine and 2 transports in the Republic of Moldova. The value of these new transports amounts to 977,862 lei.
