Another announcement from HPE at their annual event HPE Discover 2021implemented virtually, is a new innovative consumption-based pay-per-use model that will be optimized at the silicon level, enabling HPE to deliver a more granular and better metered cloud experience, less buffering time and much faster deployment.

The model called Silicon On-Demand (Silicon On Demand), will be available first through the Cloud Platform HPE GreenLake.

This model, developed in conjunction with Intel, will allow HPE to offer flexible consumption capabilities.

Silicon on Demand is based on a new capacity added in a processor core and persistent memory level, using the proven Intel Optane technology.

Plus with Silicon on Demand, HPE eliminates the need to order or install new processors, allowing the customer to instantly activate and pay for more capacity with a single click.

According to Pat Gelsinger, Intel CEO, “As the world becomes increasingly digital, harnessing insights from raw data will depend on technology solutions that harness four key superpowers: cloud, connectivity, artificial intelligence, and the smart edge.“.
