The gathering between Indonesian Silat Universities in Japan which was held at the Indonesian Hall of the Republic of Indonesia School in Tokyo was attended by 11 universities, namely: Brotherhood of Faithful Heart Terate, IKS PI Kera Sakti, Panca Sakti, Pagar Nusa, Shield of Self, Persinal Asad, PSHW Tunas Muda, PPS Betako Merpati Putih, Tapak Suci, Syahbandar Karimadi, and Panglipur.
Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Japan Heri Akhmadi said that pencak silat is an effective medium for promoting Indonesian arts and culture.
“Next year Indonesia-Japan relations will be 65 years old. Pencak silat can be one of the flagship programs for promoting arts and culture as a series of celebrations. In the near future, it is planned to hold a competition between martial arts colleges in Japan,” said Ambassador Heri, in a written message.

The friendly fight became the highlight of the Gathering between Indonesian Silat Universities in Japan. More than 70 fighters who were present at Balai Indonesia also performed various silat moves from various universities.
Japan Inter-PPI Badminton Tournament
Still in the series of activities to commemorate the 77th Indonesian Independence Day, the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo in collaboration with the Japanese Indonesian Student Association held a Badminton Tournament between PPI at Balai Indonesia SRIT on August 27, 2022. This activity was attended by 11 PPI representatives from various prefecture universities in Japan including PPI Waseda, Todai, Chiba and Gunma.

The Indonesian Education and Culture Attaché, Yusli Wardiatno, when opening the event emphasized that this activity was aimed at fostering the spirit of sportsmanship and love for the homeland among young Indonesian students in Japan.

In this tournament, PPI Gunma successfully won first place. While the second place was won by PPI Tokyo Metropolitan University.
