Shoei X-15 is officially sold in Indonesia, these are the advantages of the X-14

DAPURPACU – Not only launching the latest Nolan model, namely the N30-4 series, PT Prakarsa Abadi Sentosa (PAS) Distributor Nolan Group, also presents the latest generation of the Shoei X series.

Is the Shoei X-Fifteen (X-15), which is the latest regeneration model from the previous product, namely the X-14, which is claimed to have been positively absorbed by bikers in Indonesia.

Various developments were carried out by Shoei engineers in Japan to make a series of changes compared to the previous model, starting from the design to wind tunnel testing.

This helmet, which is the mainstay of Marc Marquez, has been specially designed and revolutionized it in the world of motor racing (racing). Design changes are also claimed to make it comfortable when ‘launched’ at high speeds exceeding 350 km/hour.

Even the downforce was increased to -1.6 percent from the previous version. Other security sectors were also updated, thereby reducing the occurrence of pulled helmets by 6.1 percent.

General Manager of PT PAS, Avant Tjen hopes that the latest generation of X-15 will be positively received in the Indonesian market, like the previous model, namely the X-14.

“Armed with various advantages over previous models, especially from the latest features, success will be achieved again by the X-15,” he said during the launch, last Thursday (25/5).

“We have distributed the Shoei X-15 to all Nolan resellers throughout Indonesia since last April 2023,” explained Avan further.

The manager of PT Prakarsa Bangun Sarana as the distributor of Shoei helmets, Boy Septa explained, by design it displays strict straight line accents on almost the shell.

This design is designed with high level printing technology. Additionally, the X-15 used a narrow shape from the chin-bar to the rear of the helmet. This change is claimed to increase the effect significantly.

“The rear stabilizer draws airflow into the tunnel-like spaces created to the left and right of the helmet. The airflow is then directed backwards, controlling its direction and increasing stability,” explained Boy.

From the ventilation sector, Shoei has used air pressure analysis to locate the ideal ventilation system. The layout is also positioned more efficiently for use on the track.

To that end, Shoei has achieved this by deepening the air ducts inside the helmet more than 1.5 times and providing outlet holes in the rear stabilizer tunnel.

While considering designs for the X-15, Shoei’s team of engineers built a model out of clay and measured it with a 3D scanner.

The Shoei X-15 is fitted with a CWR-F2R visor, which has a center lock system that increases the visor’s contact with the window rubber, to keep out wind and rain.

Visibility is also clearer by placing pins for anti-fog sheets, supported by tear-off buttons outside the field of vision.

The top position of the visor when used for racing or at high speeds rises 5 mm. As a protector, the Shoei X-15 is equipped with a lock that is placed in the middle of the helmet.

These two locks reduce the risk of accidental release of the guard in the event of a fall. Equipped with a new lock, there is a lever that is used when attaching and removing the guard.

Shoei X-15 uses a combination of hybrid materials on the surface of the interior. This material absorbs moisture very well and dries quickly in areas where sweat has accumulated.

There is also an Emergency Quick Release system (EQRS) in the form of a special tape on the cheek pads. The trick, simply pull the tape so that the helmet will be released easily.

Shoei X-15 comes in three variants, all of which are available, with a starting price tag of IDR 11.6 million for solid colors, IDR 13.9 million for the color model and a replica of Marc Marquez IDR 14.4 million. [dp/TH]
