Rebecca Nahar, grandmother of world-class all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, has died. He died of old age at his residence at Keshab in Magura around 10 pm on Wednesday. He was about 6 years old.
According to family sources, Rebecca Nahar was suffering from various complications due to old age for a long time. He was brought to Magura from Dhaka Neuro Science Hospital on Tuesday.
Rebecca Nahar is survived by two sons, three daughters, grandchildren and numerous admirers. Among them Shakib Al Hasan is currently playing in the Bangladesh national cricket team. And her daughter’s son Mehdi Hasan Ujjwal was a former player of Bangladesh national football team.
